Let's make a panel skirt!

We will be working side by side to make a panel skirt just for you. Learn my techniques, sew with my guidance, and let's make one of my favorite burlesque costume pieces. 

What to bring:

Sewing machine- Let me know if you need to borrow one

Fabric for panels- A flowing, light-weight fabric is ideal (ex. chiffon)

Fabric to make belt- Fabric without 4-way stretch is best as well as a backing fabric like muslin, cotton, or linen. 

Closures- How do you want to remove your skirt? (ex. snaps, magnets, zippers, etc)

Thread in matching colors- Polyester universal thread will work 

Notebook and pen to write down what we learn

Good to have, but I will be prepared to share if needed:

Stretch and/or Microtex Sewing Machine Needles

Sewing Shears

Pins or sewing clips

Shoes you plan on wearing with panel skirt to make sure the length is right

We will start getting set up by 1PM to come up with a plan of action for your skirt and belt and begin cutting fabric. This will be a loose setting and I am prepared to work until we are in a good spot for you to begin the finishing touches of your skirt including closures and embellishments. 

Movies and music will be in the background and feel free to bring any beverages or snacks to keep our momentum going. I have many furry friends at the house, so if you get allergies, I suggest taking an allergy pill before coming over.
